Don’t Let Insurers, Big Pharma and PBMs Raid Your Health Care Providers’ Resources

Many Missouri hospitals and health care providers are eligible for discounts through the federal 340B Drug Pricing Program. This allows them to support patients’ access to medication and care and invest in programs to keep individuals and communities health.

Even though the federal government says these providers can participate in the 340B program, insurers, the pharmacy benefit managers that they usually own and drug manufacturers are trying to reduce patients’ and providers’ ability to participate.

Not only does the program make access to high-cost drugs available to patients, it also often supports services like cancer, diabetes and behavioral health care that might otherwise not be available.

Missouri lawmakers have filed bills this year to prohibit these raids on the 340B program.
